Tonight and last night I got the rest of the area for the new slab for the entry way into the basement roughed in. I have a board for a former running parallel with the wall where the door will be.
I figure that I will pour it about 4 inches thick and the size of the pad will be about 4' by 7'. This will fill up the area between the two old stub walls and fill in a spot where I can later add on to those walls.
I also have the begining of the drain pipe added in. Basically, I buried a 90 degree elbow with a peice of 2' pipe comming out of each end. The horizontal peice goes out below the former board and will later be added onto to take the water out to lower ground. Once the slab is setup I can cut the vertical pipe flush with the top of the slab and add in a drain.
Hopefully I will be able to pour the concrete on saturday morning. I beleive that the concrete bags come good for one cubic foot. So I figure it will take about 10 bags of concrete to get the job done.
Once the slab is in I have more digging to do.
